40: so bullying to one person may mean

43: something completely different to the

45: next person it is quite subjective and

47: it can be hard to define or even to

49: recognize when it's happening what may

52: seem trivial such as just exceeding

54: someone from the coffee room every

55: morning over time that plates are really

57: oppressive working environment and then

59: you get the more extreme cases where

61: there's verbal maybe even physical

63: Behavior sometimes people are

66: permanently disabled with their mental

68: health and they can never work again

70: sadly we have lots of clients who who

73: suffer with suicidal thoughts

77: sometimes people will speak up and say

80: that something is bullying when actually

83: they're really just being managed and

86: there's a performance issue assuming

88: it's a reasonable request from your

90: manager then that is not workplace

95: somebody feels as though they're being

125: work I witnessed people positions of

128: power of just yelling at co-workers in

130: front of other people demeaning them

132: making sexual comments when the

134: environment is like that at the top

136: level it really does trickle down to

137: every facet of the workplace like I

141: actually found myself becoming a bit

143: toxic as well

144: I had a bit of a mental breakdown I

147: think bullying can be so detrimental and

150: can be so Sinister because it can be

152: just even those little comments that are

154: meant to chip away at your self-esteem

156: and your self-worth and I think that's

158: where it starts to get really dangerous

161: I was bullied at work myself

164: and it went on for about two years

167: before I actually felt able to do

170: anything about it

180: because my health suffered so enormously

183: as a result the pressure The Strain the

188: extra mental health issues that I

191: suffered really escalated during that

199: trying to speak to somebody in

200: confidence preferably somebody's senior

210: happen early on about which behaviors

213: are acceptable and which are not

218: there's usually a formal grievance

221: policy that you can follow to escalate

223: your concerns and have them investigated

225: but sometimes that might not be the

228: right option for the employee in terms

231: health first and only you know what's

233: best for your health don't be afraid to

255: which means it's very difficult to bring

258: a case unless you do have a psychiatric

260: injury whereas harassment cases can be

290: to be able to bring a case because it is

302: of people being subjected to bullying

304: but they have nowhere to go and the law

306: doesn't support them I think the

310: what bullying in the conduct is or is

314: not and more what is the impact on that

320: we need to look at early intervention

322: making sure managers are trained they're

326: able to deal with the people issues and

329: not just the technical parts of their

332: roles but also employers need to look at

334: their working practices the pressure the

337: deadlines the working hours the hybrid

340: working the always-on when people are

343: under pressure their behaviors will

344: change the more that we have

346: conversations about workplace bullying

348: the greater the awareness is going to be

351: and then people will feel able to

354: recognize it earlier to Define it to

357: speak up against it not just for

359: themselves but for others as well
