17: So customer service jobs are all about what?

19: I bet you guessed it! Great customer service.

22: It's really not uncommon for a customer to approach an employee

26: expecting them to solve a problem. A situational job interview question like

30: tell me about a time you had to deal with the difficult customer can really

33: show the employer that you can still give

36: awesome customer service while dealing with a not so pleasant customer.

40: When answering you really want to avoid answers like

43: I don't like when people are mean to me so I avoid conflict at all cost.

46: I would just let my boss handle it.

48: This would be my first job so I'm not really sure how I would handle it.

51: but as they say the customer is always right so

54: I would probably get them whatever they want.

56: I had a customer call in and they

57: were furious. They were not only yelling at me but they are also cursing at me too.

62: So I didn't know what to do so I just hung up on them and hoped they didn't call back.

66: You wanna show the interviewer that you have the people skills

70: and the problem solving skills to help satisfy this customer.

74: So at my last job, a customer came in and she was really upset

77: cussing at me kinda going off the panhandle. I knew that she was really

81: upset about the situation so I didn't take it personally.

84: So I listened to her concerns. Made sure she understood that I was on her side.

88: And I apologized.

90: She wanted to return an item but she didn't have the receipt.

93: So I explained to her that it was against policy to take the item back

96: without that receipt. However I was able to offer her store credit.

100: That seemed to make her happy so it was really was a win-win situation for everyone.

104: This answer shows the employer that you can assess the situation,

107: fix the problem, and have the customer and the employer both come out on top.
