12: Now your parents didn't lie to you when they tell you that's it's what's on the

16: inside that counts. But when it comes to a job interview

19: your appearance really does make a difference.

22: Besides having proper interview attire, your day to day appearance

26: might have to undergo a few little tweaks before you're ready for your job interview.

30: Piercings.

31: Piercings can really distract the interviewer

33: and you might even violate company policy before you're even hired.

37: So if you have anything like a facial piercing or a tongue piercing,

41: you're gonna want to take that out before the interview.

43: Earrings are okay but make sure that you limit them to a reasonable size

47: and only have one per ear.

48: Tattoos.

49: Cover your tattoos as much as possible.

51: Wear clothing that will hide them or even use tattoo cover-up so they don't show through.

56: Similar to piercings, tattoos can be distracting

59: or may even break company policy. You want the interviewer to be focused on you

64: and your qualifications and not your ink.

66: Hair.

67: Try to stay away from hair colors that are a little funky.

70: I'm talking pink, green, blue, etc. And also, keep your hair in a nice

75: clean and polished hairstyle.

76: You really want to make sure you don't have a bird's nest hiding in your head.

80: The goal is to appear as professional as possible.

83: This is really important when it comes to food positions especially

87: but you want to keep these in mind for whatever job you are applying for.

90: Don't get us wrong.

91: Self-expression is awesome and we're all about it.

94: But until you actually get that job offer you want your application

98: and qualifications to stand out, not your personal style.
