11: And so sometimes it's hard to stay optimistic, you know.

13: But I can also look at how much things have changed.

17: The business community, it was very much a side issue

21: until fairly recently.

22: And now, the world's largest companies, it's on the agenda.

26: So at least it's there.

27: The Paris Climate Accord: every country in the world

30: agreed to something.

31: That was arguably the first time that's ever happened.

34: And they agreed to cut emissions and look at their energy

36: systems.

37: One country has said they're not going

38: to be part of the Paris Climate Accord anymore,

40: but the rest are moving on.

42: But the things that really gives me hope are really two things.

45: The change in the clean economy, meaning

48: the cost of building solar and wind,

50: the cost of making buildings more efficient,

52: electric vehicles, batteries, those have come down

54: dramatically fast, like shockingly fast,

57: exponentially fast.

58: And so we're now seeing a world where

60: all the new energy being built, the vast majority

63: is renewables.

64: EVs are starting to be a dominant sales force.

67: And then the second thing is the youth, the climate youth.

71: And Greta Thunberg, I was aware of her a year ago,

74: and was already talking about her in my speeches and writing,

77: and nobody knew who she was.

78: And in a year, she built a global movement.

80: She's 16 years old.

81: And there's kids in the street all over the world.

84: And I think you can't ignore that.

86: And I think real changes in the world

88: has started with people in the streets

90: and started with young people, almost every time.

92: So keep an eye on that space and what

95: they're going to demand of organizations and governments.
